Skidmore worked on the staff of New York architect Raymond Hood who served on the Century of Progress Exposition Board of Architects. Bennett (1874–1954, Chicago), Harvey Wiley Corbett (1873–1954, New York), Paul Philippe Cret (1876–1945, Philadelphia), John A. Holabird (1886–1945,Chicago), Daniel H.
