Runstad married Judith Manville (born 07/15/1944 in OR), a land-use attorney with the firm of Foster, Pepper and Shefelman, PLLC, on 12/03/1977. Her father was Gerry Wright Manville (born 09/06/1909 in Boise, ID-d. 02/13/2009 in Salt Lake City, UT), her mother Jean Elidice Thurston (born 01/27/ 1918 in Payette, ID-d. 08/23/2011 in Salt Lake City, UT). In 1950, Gerry Manville operated a retail lumber yard in North Fruitland, ID. Her mother Jean managed the household that included Judith and her elder brother Gary Wright Manville (born 10/1940 in OR). She received the The University of Washington Outstanding Alumna Achievement Award in 1996 and, earlier, the school's Distinguished Alumna Award in 1992. She has also been named to the Matrix Women of Achievement Award.
Biographical Notes
For many years, H. Jon Runstad has been one of the most civic-minded and influential developers in the State of Washington. Heavily involved in local charitable causes, Runstad has served as Associate General Chairman for three different United Way campaigns; The Runstad Center for Real Estate Studies at the University of Washington, Seattle, is named for Jon and his wife Judy. While at the University of Washington, he was a member of the crew team and has served later on its University of Washington Board of Rowing Stewards. He endowed the Runstad Center for Real Estate Studies in the College of Built Environments, which was named in honor of Jon and his wife, Judy.
