Firm Notes

Bebb and Mendel was a significant Seattle-based partnership that lasted between 1901 and early 1914. Bebb and Mendel practiced in Room #206 of the Denny Block in 1904, but, by 1910, had moved to Room #503 in the same building. (See Bebb and Mendel classified advertisement, Seattle Post-Intelligencer, 06/12/1904, p. 6.)

Prior to joining Louis Mendel, Charles H. Bebb operated a solo architectural practice from 1898 until 1901. After his partnership with Mendel dissolved in 1914, Bebb joined with the talented designer Carl F. Gould, Sr., (1873-1939) to form the highly important firm of Bebb and Gould, responsible for much of the University of Washington's early campus.

The firm was listed as a Patron of the Seattle Architectural Club, Seattle, WA, 1910.
