Overview
This large, unorthodox office complex served the telecommunications giant, Telenor ASA, in a suburban setting just outside the City of Oslo, Norway. The Norwegian architect Peter C. Pran led NBBJ's design efforts on this energy-efficient, high-tech ensemble of builidngs. Telenor was owned by the government of Norway.
Building History
Telenor, one of Europe's largest wireless telecommunications carriers, picked the Seattle, WA-based architectural firm to design its 255,000-square-meter World Headquarters on land in Fornebu, a village outside of Oslo, nearby to Oslo's International Airport. Peter C. Pran (1935-2017) was the lead designer on the complex.
Building Notes
The Telenor World Headquarters earned many awards.
It was voted a "Knowledge by Design Case Study Prize Finalist" by the American Institute of Architects (AIA), AIA NW + Pacific Region.
