Building History
The 3-floor Florence Hotel was completed in 1911.
Building Notes
The S.C. Dodge Building/Florence Hotel consisted of four parallel rectangles joined by a central circulation spine. Light courts were placed between the four pavilions to enable light and air to penetrate into rooms.
Alteration
The Urban Innovations Group, led by Rex Lotery (1930-2007), affiliated with UCLA, renovated the Florence Hotel for low-income or homeless residents in 1986.
