"Consultants recently told [owner Ken] Alhadeff that the existing structure is too far gone for even the most extensive repair. So Alhadeff, a member of the family that owned the former Longacres Race Track, came up with a new idea. He would replace The Bay with The Majestic Bay, a three-screen cinema built to look like the theater did when it opened 83 years ago, under the name 'Majestic.'"
