Notes:
A session of urban redevelopment was held at the 98th Annual Convention of the American Institute of Architects in Denver, 1966; San Francisco architect, George Rockrise, spoke at a workshop on the "Image of the City." "George Rockrise FAIA of San Francisco, consultant to the Department of Housing and Urban Development, declared 'the US has so much invested in its cities that we can't let all the goodies escape to the suburbs' and that means must be found to reconstitute the city." Mention was made in the article to San Francisco's BART system, and the potential it had for taxing landowners whose property near BART stations had greatly increased in value.
