Alice Robertson Carr was born in Roanoke, VA, on 10/03/1899. The family of her father William Watts Carr had deep roots in VA. Despite this, he seems to have had some wanderlust, as he moved the family to KY by about 1897 and to MT by the late-1900s.

She resided in London, England in 1928, where she studied sculpture with Jose de Creeft. She would marry de Creeft in the spring of that year.

The sculptor Alice Robertson Carr de Creeft died in Santa Barbara, CA, on 08/02/1996 at the age of 96.

Parents

Her mother was Margaret "Madge" MacDougall (born 01/25/1870 in NY-d. 07/09/1965) and her father William Watts Carr (born 12/11/1867-d. 10/22/1930), who worked as a farmer and orchardist.

She had three siblings: Eva Sabine Carr (born 11/21/1897 in KY-d. 01/15/1992 in Alhambra, CA), George Watson Carr (born 10/03/1899 in VA-d. 12/24/1950 in Harris County, TX) and Dugald MacDougall Carr (born 04/1901 in Roanoke, VA-d. 05/16/1962 in Cincinnati, OH).

Spouse

She wed her sculpture teacher, José Mariano Facundo de Creeft (born 11/27/1884 in Guadalajara, Spain-d. 09/11/1982 in New York, NY) at the Parish Church of Saint Paul Covent Garden on 03/15/1928. Biographical Notes

She traveled aboard the Compagnie Générale Transatlantique'sS.S. Paris between Le Havre, France, and New York, NY, between 05/29/1929 and 06/04/1929.
