In a 2021 interview with Julia Gamolina in 2021, Sutton said of her early career in music: "After earning an undergraduate degree, I toured with Sol Hurok Attractions, performed in symphony orchestras, in Radio City Music Hall, and on Broadway, appearing in over 1,000 performances of Man of La Mancha and recording its original cast album." Relocation
Sutton grew up in the segregated OH city of Cincinnati during the 1940s and 1950s. She took piano lessons and learned how to play the French horn while in her college- preparatory high school. She moved to New York, NY, to attend various college programs in music, interior design, architecture and psychology between 1959 and 1982.
