Partner, [Charles A.] Coolidge and Shattuck, Architects, Boston, MA, 07/1915-1923; a brief article in the "Personals" section of the American Architect, stated: "Mr. Charles A. Coolidge, formerly of Shepley, Rutan & Coolidge, and Mr. George Shattuck, formerly with that firm, announce their new partnership of Coolidge & Shattuck, with offices in the Ames Building, Boston, MA." (See "Personals," American Architect, CVIII, no. 2000, 07/28/1915, p. 62.) Designed by Shepley, Rutan and Coolidge, the 13-story Ames Building, built between 1889-1893, was the tallest skyscraper in Boston between its completion and 1915, when Peabody and Stearns's Custom House Tower (1913-1915) was finished.

Shattuck died of a cerebral hemorrhage and was buried in the West Parish Garden Cemetery, Andover, NH. Shattuck, while with the renowned firm of Shepley, Rutan and Coolidge, designed several buildings in the West Parish Cemetery.
His parents were John and Althea Amelia (Cutler) Shattuck.
