Résumé
Of his World War II service, one of his sons wrote in a Seattle Times obituary: "Drafted at 18, he did his basic training at Fort Lewis and Camp Roberts and was deployed to South Hampton, UK. Transported quickly to France, he spent most of his two years of service with the Fighting 69th Infantry. The division spent time in Belgium and the Ardennes Forest, and liberated a concentration camp. His division sped across central Germany, eventually meeting up with Russian troops on the Elbe River. Relocation
Born in Bellingham, WA, Michael Dean Ossewaarde resided there until being drafted in World War II. He trained at Fort Lewis in WA and Camp Roberts in CA, before being deployed to England, France, Belgium and Germany during the war.
He returned to the US, and matriculated at the University of Washington under provisions of the G.I. Bill, where he graduated in architecture. He worked his entire career at the firm of Naramore, Brady, Bain and Johanson (NBBJ). He died in Bellevue, WA, from complications of cancer.

Ossewarde married twice. He first married Beverly Ann Baylor (1926-2008) on 6/17/1950 in Bellingham, WA.
He married Beverly Jeanne Grimmon 11/05/2003.

With Beverly Ann Baylor, he had three children, a daughter, Kathy, and two sons, Mark and Kirk.
