Clayton Young married to Jean Alice Linden, his wife and business partner, on 06/19/1948 in Detroit, MI. Her parents were Gordie Young ((born 09/11/1884 in Muhlenberg County, KY-d. 02/14/1975 in Franklin County, KY), an educator, and Lola Florence Bivin (or perhaps spelled "Bivin," born 06/13/1887 in Kirkmansville, KY-d. 06/05/1932 in Franlin County, KY), also a school teacher. In 1910, Lola's mother Emma, also was a school teacher.

Jean and Clayton later divorced.
