Allen characterized his design process: "Scott’s approach balances rigorous process with strong design intuition. He begins by developing an understanding of his client’s design ideas, their specific needs and the unique qualities of the work’s location to establish a strong conceptual framework. The strength of these ‘bones’ allows the design to evolve naturally as the more detailed aspects of the project are developed. This collaborative process helps Scott create architecture that truly responds to all the factors that influence it – from the big idea to the subtlest nuance."
