The firm dissolved in an acrimonious break-up in 1958. An agreement was made between the two men that Neutra would still design residential commissions within his own firm, while larger commericial and institutional commissions would be developed at the shared firm of Neutra and Alexander. The break occurred when Alexander and Neutra disagreed over the development of large-scale jobs.
