Two Texas A and M University architecture professors, William Caudill and John Rowlett, started their firm in Houston, TX; it grew to have multiple offices; in 1983, CRS absorbed the engineering firm, J.E. Sirrine, to form CRS-Sirrine. CRS ceased in 1994 when its engineering division was purchased by Jacobs Engineering of Pasadena, CA, and the architectural group by Hellmuth, Obata and Kassabaum (HOK).
