Mortensen worked in throughout WA State, from at least the 1930s into the 1970s. The Mortensen firm was listed in several court cases over recovery of fees and other matters during the 1950s-1970s, the most significant federal case being 217 F. 2d 325 - Nelse Mortensen Co v. Kenneth S. Treadwell, Trustee of Puget Sound Products Company, (1954) and the most important Washignton State case being 17 Wn. App. 703, Nelse Mortensen and Company, Incorporated v. Group Health Cooperative of Puget Sound (1977).
