Dean G. Clark, William H. Davison, David Hiroshi Fukui, Richard Hobbs
Active 1982-1986
Firm Notes
This group of architects operated together from at least 1977 until 1986. Richard W. Hobbs left the firm in 1986, and the name was changed to "Fukui Davison Architects," at that time. (See "History/Bibliographies," Decker Fukui Architecture Playbook, [Seattle: Decker Fukui Architecture, 02/1987], p. A1.1.)
Architects Richard W. Hobbs, David H. Fukui and William H. Davison also associated with Jon H. Decker periodically after 1975. As per a Decker Fukui Architecture manual from 02/1987: "FD [Fukui Davison] is also in partnership with Jon H. Decker to form Decker/Fukui Davison. D/FD was originated as a joint venture in 1975, becoming a partnership in 1982. D/FD specializes in architectural services for health care and laboratory facilities." (See "History/Bibliographies," Decker Fukui Architecture Playbook, [Seattle: Decker Fukui Architecture, 02/1987], p. A1.1.) Contrary to this in-house document, however, D/FD was not an alliance formed in 1975 by Decker, Fukui and Davison, but was first formed by Decker, Hobbs and Fukui in 1975. Davison did not become a name partner until 1982.
The firm's name was listed as "Decker / Hobbs Fukui Davison" in 1989. Richard W. Hobbs also operated his own firm as listed in the same volume of ProFile. (See ProFile The Official Directory of the American Institute of Architects, 1989-1990, Henry W. Schirmer, ed., [Topeka, KS: Archimedia, 1989], p. 1113.)
