Warren and Wetmore, based in New York, NY, developed a diversified practice during the period 1896-1931. It became best known for designing Grand Central Terminal (New York, NY, 1903-1913). The firm built a prestigious reputation for designing large luxury hotels, mostly in New York City, but a few in Western US, most notably the Hotel Broadmoor (Colorado Springs, CO, c. 1918) and the Royal Hawaiian (Honolulu, HI, 1927).
