William F. Curlett (1846-1914) and Walter J. Cuthbertson (1850-1925) maintained a partnership for about seven years, between 1883 and 1890. Curlett had been in partnership between 1880 and 1882 with Theodore Augustus Eisen (1852-1924)who went on to form a partnership with his son, Percy Augustus Eisen (1885-1946), known as "Theodore Eisen and Son."
Curlett and Cuthbertson originally obtained the contract to design the Yuba City Hall of Records in late 1889, but lost it to Cuthbertson's next firm, Mooser and Cuthbertson.
