Exhibition Notes

A note in the Oakland Tribune of 03/18/1952 said: “An exhibit of the outstanding homes of the Bay Area will be presented to the public March 24 through April 5 at the Fifth Annual Architects’ Exhibit at Breuner’s Home Furnishings Store here. Scale models and photographs of indoor and outdoor views, supplemented by the architect’s sketches, will delineate every detail of the selected homes, according to Donald Macky, exhibit chairman. Among the Oakland area architects represented will be Confer and Ostwald, Harry Bruno, Roger Lee, Arne Kartwold, Kitchen and Hunt, and Clayton Van Wagner. This year in conjunction with the architects’ exhibit, the work of the California furniture designers will be displayed as well as an exhibit of contemporary paintings and sculpture by Bay Area artists. The home exhibit is not in its fifth year of sponsorship by the East Bay Chapter of the American Institute of Architects.” “(See Architect Show To Feature Bay Model Homes,” Oakland Tribune, 03/18/1952, p. 24D.)
