Maguire Partners and the Crocker Bank collaborated on the financing of this second tower phase of the Crocker Center. Crocker Bank was purchased by Wells Fargo and Company Bank in 02/1986. Skidmore Owings and Merrill, Los Angeles designed the Crocker Center, collaborating with landscape architect Lawrence Halprin, who laid out the landscaping of a 3-story, glazed atrium joining the skyscrapers. The atrium had an address of 330 South Grand Avenue, while the KPMG Tower stood at 355 South Grand Avenue. Crocker (Wells Fargo) Tower was at 333 South Grand Avenue.
This second building in the Crocker Center complex stood 45 stories and contained 1,010,000 square feet when built in 1983. Of the two towers built, it was the smaller of the two, standing 9 stories shorter than the first erected in 1982.
