Led by long-time president, Isaias W. Hellman (1842-1920), the Hellman, Temple and Company began service in Los Angeles, CA, on 09/01/1868; it reorganized as the Farmers and Merchants Bank in 1870, and eventually became known as Security First National Bank. In 1967, Security First National Bank bought Pacific National Bank to form Security Pacific National Bank (SPNB). The Bank of America purchased SPNB in 1992.
