Architect's own house; the Corbett House won an Award of Merit from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) in 1949, the first year in which the awards were given. Architect Mario F. Corbett (1901-1977) lived in this two-floor redwood-clad Bay Region house with his wife. Corbett designed his house to take in sweeping views of San Francisco Bay, and had a depressed, sheltered outdoor living area to enjoy sun without strong winds.
