Building History

Architect Mario F. Corbett (1901-1977) lived in this two-floor, redwood-clad, Bay Region house with his wife. Corbett designed his house to take in sweeping views of San Francisco Bay, and had a depressed, sheltered outdoor living area to enjoy sun without strong winds.

Building Notes

Architect's own house; the Corbett House won an Award of Merit from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) in 1949, the first year in which the awards were given.
