Timothy Pflueger reclad the exterior of the building in 1946; he used a flush skin of white marble supposedly to keep the pigeons from roosting on the facade; Pflueger's facade influenced the facade of the Seattle and Los Angeles Magnin branches; an Hermes leather goods store was built in the I. Magnin Store in 1986 by the firm of Mayer and Sayer;
