Overview

Samuel Crockett and his wife Marjorie commissioned Seattle architects James Chiarelli (1908-1990) and Paul Hayden Kirk (1914-1995) to design this residence for them on a then rural piece of land on Mercer Island, WA. Crockett, in 1951, was an Assistant Program Director for the KING Broadcasting Company. The Crocketts' residence was located in an undeveloped section of the island, according to the 1951 Seattle City Directory (p. 286) as being "RD 1 box 1119 Mercer Island."
