Building History
According to the Queen Anne Historical Society, architect Daniel Riggs Huntington (1871-1962) designed this apartment building as lodging for guests of George Kinnear (1836-1912), and was the last surviving work commissioned by the developer. Like many, many apartment buildings in Seattle, it was finished in time to house tourists and new immigrants visiting the city during the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition of 1909. A deceptively large building, it contained 39 extensive apartment suites, each over 1,000 square feet in size.
