Architect Harwell Hamilton Harris (1903-1990) designed this model house with a class of students at the University of Texas at Austin. He worked with Marie Harbeck Berger and Arthur S. Berger, Landscape Architects. WilliamMcFadden of Dallas, TX, designed the interiors. The Dallas Home Builders Association and Joe Maberry served as building contractors. The house was originally located at Fair Park, Dallas, and subsequently moved to 13030 Stonebrook Circle, Dallas, TX.
Harris worked with the following UT Austin students on the 1955 Pace-Setter House: David Brown Barrow, Jr., Patrick Swearingen Chumney, William E. Hoff, Neal T. Lacey, Donald Legge and Heldor Neilson. In 2012, Monica Penick, a graduate student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, spoke at the Annual Conference of the Society of Architectural Historians, Detroit, MI, 04/21/2012; her lecture was called "Collaborative Building: Harwell Harris and the All-Electric House."
