Siple designed this residence with a number of Regency Revival features, most notably in the wrought iron balcony facing the extensive patio. In the front yard, landscape architect Edward Huntsman-Trout designed a distinctive four-lobed parterre in a knot garden. According to landscape historian David Streatfield, Siple and Huntsman-Trout were good friends, living near to each other in Mandeville Canyon. (Conversation with Streatfield 11/30/2010.) The house's interior was done in a stale New England Colonial manner.
House Beautiful published this house three times, once in 07/1943 (when its front facade appeared on the front cover) and again in 06/1946 (when the back facade was featured on the cover). A large-scale article was done for the 08/1947 issue. The house had a mixture of conservative styling with extensive outdoor living features popular with readers of the 1940s.
