Building History
This 2-story, L-shaped house was formed around a outdoor living court. Dr. Carey Snoddy wanted privacy and an outdoor living area sheltered from ocean breezes. Other outdoor living rooms included a terrace on the west side off the living room and a long balcony off of the Master bedroom looking down on the terraced courtyard. The house cost $8,600 to erect.
The Snoddy House had a hybrid Regency/Monterey Colonial/Moderne stylistic character.
