Building History
John Moore Morse (1911-2000), of the Seattle architecture firm of Bassetti and Morse, served as the Lead Designer for the Birnbaum House. This house was done three years after Morse designed the neighboring Scheffer House at Hilltop. Both plans formed tight rectangular forms, with no projecting wings; the Sheffer House was a pavilion set on a wooden deck, while the Birnbaum House was placed on a concrete slab.
