Harriet and Fred Rochlin are married and live in Los Angeles, California. Harriet is a native of Los Angeles, and, as did her husband, she graduated from the University of California, Berkeley. She has worked as a full-time professional writer since 1967, having published a number of works on western Jewish history and other subjects in numerous national magazines, literary and historical journals, and newspapers. She is also a novelist and lecturer. She and her husband published the book Pioneer Jews: A New Life in the FarWest in 1984. Fred Rochlin is a native of Nogales, Arizona. His parents were Russian immigrants who were among the pioneer settlers of that border town. After service in World War II he earned a degree in architecture and has since gained a reputation as a successful architect in southern California.
