Waldo sought to establish a hospital dedicated wholly to administering and treating patients according to the tenets of osteopathy. Completed in 1924, the original building sat just outside city limits, as discriminatory zoning practices and negative sentiment from the mainstream medical community worked to prohibit an osteopathic facility from being constructed in Seattle."
