Firm Notes

English-born architect Ernest Coxhead migrated to the US and established his own firm in Los Angeles, CA, c. 1887-1889; Ernest Coxhead and his brother, Almeric, resettled in San Francisco, CA, in 1890. In 1887, Los Angeles experienced a recession in the building industry, and this slowdown may have precipitated a move by the Coxheads northward to greener pastures.
