The first library located in Arcadia, CA, dated back to 1913, when a women's group, Cooperative Arcadians, set up a small repository. This was moved on 07/01/1920 to a location in the Arcadia City Hall. The library again moved in 1924 to a converted residence to the north of the City Hall. Voters passed a bond issue in 1928, providing $45,000 to erect a new, independent space, finished 04/1930.
