Building History

The Bank of Napa Headquarters #1 was the first known design by the influential, English-born architect John Parkinson (1861-1935), who worked in Northern and Southern CA, and Seattle, WA.

Building Notes

John Parkinson did business with the Bank of Napa in 1890, when he took out a loan with it to buy two properties. The Daily Alta California reported in 1890: ""John Parkinson and wife to Bank of Napa, 1 year, 10 per cent, lots 3 and 4, block 3; lot 9, block 1, De Boom tract, $800." (See "Mortgages," Daily Alta California, vol. 83, no. 92, 09/30/1890, p. 7.)

The Bank of Napa Building was razed.
