"Washington, April 10.--Oscar Wenderoth of New York has resigned as Supervising Architect of the Treasury, the resignation to take effect June 1. For some reason the officials of the Treasury Department have made a mystery of the matter. Mr. Wenderoth's letter of resignation had been in the hands of the Secretary of the Treasury since March 8 [1913]. Mr .Wenderoth said that he preferred to make no statement at this time. Mrs. Wenderoth was born in Philadelphia in 1871. He came to Washington from New York in 1897 to become senior architectural draughtsman in the Supervising Architect's office. He twice resigned and was twice reappointed to important positions under the Supervising Architect by President Taft in 1912. Mr. Wenderoth was at one time a member of the firm of Carrere & Hastings, the New York architects."
