Five lawsuits were pending a year after the Bixby Hotel construction accident that killed twelve workmen and injured eight others. Among the three cases, the building owner, the Long Beach Hotel Company, the architects, John C.W. Austin and Frederick G. Brown, and building contractor, F.L. Spaulding, were all sued for civil damages.
