On the first tape Fred tells about his parents, his childhood and schooling and memorable points in his career. He tells about important influences on his life, the firms he worked with and founded, how he got his early commissions, and two particular projects: The US Embassy in Portugal, and the substation on Capitol Hill. In the second tape he talks about some later projects: the remodel of the building that houses McCormicks restaurant, the Federal Building, the Makah museum and the ATT Gateway Tower. The third tape is a record of the 2nd annual Foundation dinner in the Seattle Public Library, at which Bassetti gave a 35 minute talk on the importance of letters to people and of architecture to people."
