The Muckleshoot Tribal Council's free offer of 26.5 acres (for the construction of a new arena) made to new Seattle Sonics and Storm owner, Clay Bennett, was seen as an important test as to whether he was willing to work with local authorities to keep the teams in the Puget Sound area. This land was located adjacent to the tribe's Emerald Downs racetrack in Auburn, WA.
