This fire had destroyed, as of 10/30/2006, 63 square miles, (40,200 acres), including 34 homes and 20 other structures near Cabazon, CA. An arsonist set the blaze outside of Cabazon, at approximately 1:00 AM 10/26/2006, ten miles northwest of Palm Springs, CA. At its height 2,800 firefighters were on the scene, with at least four fatalities caused by the conflagration.
