Yamaskai complained of the the lack of cooperation between architect and interior designers on the Century Plaza Hotel: "...The designer that Western International Hotels selected turned out to be completely uncooperative with us and paid no attention to the harmony that should exist between the building's exterior and its interior space, as we designed them. In my opnion the wall coverings and color, floor coverings, furnishings, and lighting that the decorator finally used are totally inappropriate to both the character of the building's exterior and its interior space, as we designed them."
