Somervell and Putnam sued E.B. Rivers, a produce merchant, for unpaid fees when the partnership provided home plans to him. Rivers did not build the house as he said the bids exceeded his maximum cost by $12,500. The judge found for Somervell and Putnam, forcing Rivers to pay them an additional $1300.
