"Competition to host a new northern branch of the University of Washington is starting to heat up. The mayors of Lake Stevens and Snohomish have a site they'd like to add to the list, which has been dominated by Everett and Stanwood. The location somewhere on a swatch of 1,100 mostly privately owned acres is between borders on land served by U.S. Route 2 and state Route 9."
