Robert W. Winter also served as an editor for this exhibition catalog. "...Arthur Jerome Eddy, a Chicago lawyer turned esthete, ...chose Pasadena as his winter and then his permanent home. In 1905 he asked Frederick L. Roehrig to design a house which would embody the virtues indegenous to Southern California culture. Eddy had seen many adobes, both simple and elegant. He admired the U-shaped plan as particularly suited to California living."
