"P.J. O'Connor was born in Liverpool, England and was educated in Ireland and in Rome. He returned to Dublin and studied architecture there before he came to the United States. For a period he was in Philadelphia and on June 18, 1852 he went to California where he spent the remainder of his life in San Francisco."
