"Emmitt [sic] G. Martin was born in La Salle, Ill. in 1889. He studied at the University of Illinois and went into the service in 1917. After this military experience he worked with his brother in Los Angeles. Later he was in independent practice and designed work in the vicinity of the city. Saint Brendan's Church in Los Angeles and Saint Augustine's Church in Cluver city are examples of his work. Died Nov. 14, 1937."
