"Nathaniel Owings FAIA is chairman of a California Governor's Jury on Good Design and Beauty. The seven-member panel appointed by Gov. Edmund G. Brown has the responsibility of selecting and honoring outstanding contributions to good design in California. Among other members are Allan Temko of the Center for Planning and Development Research of the University of California at Berkeley; Sam T. Hurst FAIA, dean of the School of Architecture and Fine Arts of the University of Southern California; Cesar Pelli, director of design for Daniel, Mann, Johnson and Mendenhall, Los Angeles architects; and T.Y. Lin, professor of civil engineering at the University of California at Berkeley."
