Chief Designer of KPF wrote of the Morrison Tower: "The abstractness of the tower's larger composition seeks a dialogue with the city, the river, and the mountains, while the vertically centered repetition of the base reflects the scale and texture of adjacent traditional structures." (p. 221) KPF architect, Peter Schubert added: "The spiraling form emerged from a need to address the distant views of Mount St. Helens and Mount Hood." (p. 223)
