Notes:
This house was the sixteenth in a series of Case Study houses sponsored by the magazine "Arts and Architecture," a program initiated in order to study and clarify contemporary attitudes in domestic architecture. With Case Study No. 16, as with previous Case Study houses, it was the intention of the magazine's editor, John Entenza, to encourage the use of new and qulity materials in the making of a small house and to equate a reasonable economy with contemporary living patterns and an exciting and enriching environment. Case Study No. 16 was the first in a series of three designed by Elwood for the Case Study program."
